After completing the course, students can: Basic knowledge of materials science and basic construction, mechanics and strength of materials; ability to use the computer and Internet resources and the use of office software package.

Functional and construction materials as the basis of engineering design – general principles for the materials selection, standardization systems. Analysis of working conditions of equipment and parts machine, as the basic criterion for proper selection. Characteristics of physico-chemical and mechanical properties of materials in terms of fulfilling the selection criteria.
